Here is the list of reasons why the last four chapters in the book of Daniel are definitely all out of order. Proof #1. Read the first verse on chapters 9 & 11, notice how they were both written in the same year during the reign of Darius the Mede. (539 B.C.) Now go look at the first verse in Daniel chapter 10, this chapter was written while they were under Cyrus, King of Persia, which was in 535 B.C. some 5 years later. Chapter 11 was intentionally placed in between chapters 10 and 12! #2. Also, notice in chapter 12 there seems to be a lot of unanswered questions, for instance like: Verse one...What book? Verse 4 ..."Other two" what? Verse 4 ..What river? Verse 5... what man in Linen, and again, what river was they referring to? Why explain it all again, when it was already made clear in regards to all these things in chapter 10. The first answer is the scriptures of truth. (10:21) Next was the two Angels, Gabriel and Michael (9:21,10:13) The river was the Hiddekel, or the modern Tigris.(10:4) The man in Linen is described in vivid detail and it is yet again the same River.(10:4-6) #3. In the first verse of chapter 11, it begins with: " 1. Also I in the first year of Darius the Mede, even I, stood to confirm and to strengthen him. 2. And now will I shew thee the truth. Behold, there shall..." Who was it that needed strengthened here, and who was showing Daniel the truth? It could not have been Daniel saying all that, unless he talking to himself. No, it was Gabriel, but again, he needed no introduction because he was already made known in the "previous" chapter (Dan 9:21) So, this leaves us with only one conclusion: The message that Gabriel had started giving Daniel in 9:22 was carried right straight on through to chapter 11 without stopping. (these chapters are speaking of antiquity) Also, when you start reading about the Antichrist or the "Prince of Persia" in Dan 11:36, the subject never changes again for the duration of the book! That's right, the same story reads straight through chapter 10 right into chapter 12...Amazing! Now that you have the truth about things, are you going to follow up on it, or just push it to the wayside? I have been studying those last four chapters with that understanding in mind for the last 7 years, and the message there is that the end-times threat would come from Persia (Iran). This is the moment in time where Michael stands up for the Children of God's people. (12:1) At the moment Iran is attacked by a foreign enemy. (10:20) This same battle is also mirrored in Dan 8:5
