Fight Wold Poverty Now Poverty is a scourge upon this earth swallowing children, families, and communities whole. Millions of people are suffering daily from a lack of food, clean water, proper hygiene, medical care, and education. In this world No one should have to drink contaminated water. No one should be denied the ability to educate and better themself, and No Child should have a distended belly from starvation. We cannot just sit down, letting this terrible blight continue. We must stand up, We must fight. We at IICD Massachusetts are dedicated to doing just that. We train volunteers to make a difference in Africa and Latin America. Programs are 9-20 months long. Beginning with 2-6 months of intensive, in-depth courses in a variety of fields: HIV/AIDs prevention, teacher training, primary education, and just getting plain dirty to fight shoulder to shoulder with the poor. After which, Volunteers spend 5-12 months in Africa or Latin America putting their skills to use, gaining first hand experience and changing peoples lives. Finally Volunteers return here for two months to share their experiences, spreading education, and awareness through this country.
