Music: Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com) At UFC 143 Carlos Condit defeated Nick Diaz to win the UFC interim welterweight championship in a very technical and close fight and will now face Georges St-Pierre in the future. After the fight a disappointed Nick Diaz announced that he wants to leave the sport. Hopefully this will not happen as Nick Diaz is very talented and is only 28 years old. It would be such a waste if he left at that age and being as talented as he is. I would like to see him fight Josh Koscheck.

Feb 7, 2012 - imo diaz won 3-2 i watched the fight again online and rounds 1 and 2 not much was thrown couple punches from diaz and couple kicks from condit. But those rounds diaz was the aggressor and controlled the octagon. 3rd round goes to condit for landing those strikes mixing it up. same goes for the 4th condit. Then the 5th round diaz was able to get a takedown and keep it on the ground which pretty much won him that round. Again, just my opinion

Feb 8, 2012 - Condit landed more strikes!! Condit as evading attacks!! Both valid arguments if this was a boxing match.. However this is MMA were talking about.. For those who don't know the judging criteria, it goes as follows: "Effective" Striking, Grappling, Aggression and Octagon control.. The only advantage Condit had was in the striking "NUMBERS" only because MMA strikes are tallied by the same system that boxing strikes are.. "CHECK KICKS" are NOT landed strikes!! Unqualified judging IMO..

Feb 8, 2012 - I'll give Diaz credit for always moving forward, but walking into punches doesn't win you fights. Diaz lost just because he couldn't intimidate Condit into a slugfest. As disappointing as it was to have the fight go to decision, Condit fought one of the smartest, and most controlled fights I've ever seen.

Feb 7, 2012 - Just because he had more strikes did not mean he won the fight. Its all about the rounds and the majority of those strikes were in round 3 and 4 which condit won. The rest were all diaz but diaz had more rounds in 3-2
