A Wing Chun approach towards training for self defence or unarmed combat, and a way to stay healthy and fit throughout life. A snippet video of some Wing Chun training starting from traditional chisao* (Sensitivity drill ) tecnique developing towards free ranges and light sparring. And onto hand counters with added force- One attacker (spontaneous) and one countering defender (using Wing Chun tech). Wing Chun is a Chinese stand-up martial art developed by southern China focusing on simplicity and economy of movement and close quarters. It is a cautious martial art that tries to reduce taking too many risks. It aims to preserve one's energy by using small subtle motions using touch sensitivity to change into more useful and safer positions in order to attack, defend, evade or escape. It involves the entire body and favours the shortest distance to a target. It favours low kicks which are safer for the practitioner as not to sacrifice the stance...Wing Chun is a flexible martial art which is open to tweaks and changes depending on the artist or the situation, and is still in development.

Mar 25, 2012 - Thank you for your kind words:)Very much appreciated. It's nice to know that there are other martial artists out there who share the same passion in our chosen art who keep it positive and welcoming. Thank you for sharing, and much respects:)

Mar 28, 2012 - what i find works best is to make your opponent over extend their reach then coming at n angle once theyve completed their attack- this takes a bit of patience and visual timing- you gotta trick them visually make them think you're open when really it's a set up n if they too close attack. Or even better and safer, enter with a kick so their attention switches off their hands n going in for an attack n if they block, your chi sao skills would kick in immediatly and you're in wing chun range:)

Apr 21, 2012 - Very good, very entertaining! I can see that the emphasis here is put on the mutual exchange you are both getting from the seeking out and learning process by not trying to out do each other. Please keep practising and good health.
