Apr 29, 2012 - Chuck was definitely great at what he did but we saw in the first Couture fight that his real weakness was that Greco-Roman style of wrestling with all of the clinchwork and whatnot. Jones would be able to keep his distance with his reach and crazy strikes, but then when we wanted to get in close, he will feed Chuck with elbows or clinch it up and probably end up putting Chuck on his ass, and as Couture showed, Chuck is a bit of a dead fish on his back.

The only reason why chuck started getting out of his prime was due to the revolution of the sport. Most fighters were either just stand up fighters, preferred to stand up, or had awful standup and decent BJJ. Jones has all of it and would easily kick the shit out of chuck in his prime. Just look at what he did to shogun, and shogun was thought to be unstoppable after beating machida.

Even if chuck got inside there is no way he would be able to do any damage since jones would just put his arm out and that is the end of it. I can tell your new to mma since you think since a fighter dosen't know muia thai or bjj he's one dimensional, you need to realize mma isn't about who knows more techniques it's about winning and how your execute your techniques or the technique you know. Just because a fighter knows several techniques doesn't make him a better fighter nor a favorite. I already said a fighter is yet to fight Jones on the inside, Chuck would win CLEANLY

Chuck liddel was NCAA division 1 wrestler, Black Belt in koei kan and 5th degree belt in Kenpo jiu-jitsu, Purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu. His Kickboxing and his counterattacking techniques are still considered as all time best in mma. If he got out of prime due to the evolution of the sport, how he beat some of the most well rounded guys of mma history? guys like Jeremy Horn, Vitor Bedford, Kevin Randleman, Randy Couture. And anyone could google those facts, I highly doubt you know what any of those titles mean. Being an NCAA div 1 wrestler doesn't mean you utilize your wrestling to the fullest extent. Vera, Bader, and Matyushenko were highly regarded wrestlers and Jones took them down no problem whenever he wanted. Kenpo JJ is illegal in MMA just like aikido, quit reciting google and learn.

Liddell is one dimensional he chooses to keep it standing while having the necessary skills to take it to the ground being a div 1 wrestler. Compared to fighters today he has a weak ground game. May 20, 2012 - Dude I could end your argument that chuck was one sided fighter by just using his fights against Tito and Randy as an example. Both are some of the best wreslters of all time in MMA. Neither of them could take Chuck down, only Randy managed it in their first fight. As for me googlin the responses, dude I have been following mma since 2001; nonetheless, even the people who have been following mma since the very first ufc use google often to look up fighter's stats.

Second of all, only some techniques of Kenpo JJ are illegal in MMA, generally it contains very useful techniques and drills that can be very helpful in the octagon. Jon Jones is an amazying wrestler; therefore, I would not be Surprised if he was able to through Bader and Matyushenko around. NCAA division one is the highest level of college wrestling

Much of Jone's success however I have to still attribute to his amazing reach. It does not mean that he is not skilled, actually it says that he has been good in utilizing techniques that fit with his reach advantage. As Bruce Lee once said, "There is no such thing as universal technique, you are THE technique and you have to equip those techniques that work best for you."
